PTI’s Omar Ayub served contempt notice over tweet against court

Islamabad High Court bench has issued a contempt of court notice to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and opposition figure Omar Ayub Khan for a social media post deemed derogatory towards the judiciary.

The notice cites a recent tweet in which Ayub allegedly criticised court proceedings in language the bench said could undermine public trust in the judicial process. He has been directed to appear in person and submit a written reply at the next hearing.

Ayub, currently serving as PTI’s secretary general, has frequently accused courts of bias in cases against party leaders since the May 9 unrest. The development adds to the party’s mounting legal battles across multiple forums.
