King Charles has inaugurated his annual summer retreat at Balmoral Castle with a traditional welcome ceremony, including an inspection of troops and a light-hearted encounter with the regiment’s pony mascot.
According to Geo.tv, Princess Anne—who recently celebrated her 75th birthday—is expected to join her father at Balmoral following her sailing trip around western Scotland aboard their yacht Ballochbuie, a vessel symbolically named after a Caledonian forest on the Balmoral estate.
Prince William and Kate Middleton are also set to spend time at Balmoral this summer with their children, continuing a long-standing family tradition. This seasonal gathering marks a return to tradition after their upcoming move to Forest Lodge in Windsor, which will become their permanent home.
