Kyiv – Ukraine said on Saturday that Russia launched a massive overnight assault, firing 614 drones and missiles across multiple regions in one of the largest barrages since the start of the war.
According to Ukraine’s Air Force, the strikes targeted critical infrastructure and urban centers, triggering widespread blackouts and damage. Air defenses intercepted a “significant portion” of the projectiles, though several managed to hit energy facilities and residential areas.
Local authorities reported casualties and injuries, with rescue operations underway amid ongoing fires and destruction. The attack comes as Moscow intensifies pressure ahead of renewed frontline battles, while Kyiv continues to urge Western allies for faster military aid and stronger air defense systems.
