Tony Hale, the Emmy-winning actor famous for Arrested Development and Veep, recently revealed a surprising truth about his role in Pixar’s Toy Story 4.
He voiced Forky, the spork-turned-toy that became a fan-favorite, but according to Hale, he didn’t even know if he’d actually be in the movie until the trailer dropped.
In an interview, he shared that after recording the voice work, he assumed Pixar might replace him with a “huge star.” It wasn’t until he saw the trailer and heard his own voice as Forky that he realized he had officially made it into the film.
Hale admitted the experience was surreal, calling it one of the most meaningful moments of his career, since Toy Story was such a huge part of his own life before he ever joined the franchise.
