Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meets today for Rabi-ul-Awwal moon sighting

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet today (Sunday) to sight the moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1447 AH.

  • The main sitting will be held in Karachi under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, while zonal committees will convene in their respective provincial capitals.

  • Testimonies regarding moon sighting from across the country will be collected and forwarded to the central body.

  • The committee will then announce whether the new Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal begins tomorrow or the day after.

Rabi-ul-Awwal holds special significance for Muslims worldwide as the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), widely commemorated as Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
