KARACHI – A local court on Saturday granted police four-day physical remand of Farhan Ghani, brother of Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani, in connection with the assault case of a government employee.
Farhan was arrested earlier this week following a complaint that accused him of attacking and harassing a Sindh Secretariat official during a dispute. The prosecution argued that his custody was necessary for further investigation, recovery of evidence, and identification of accomplices.
During the hearing, police requested a seven-day physical remand, but the court approved four days, directing investigators to produce Ghani on the next date with a progress report.
The case has drawn political attention, with opposition parties calling for a fair and transparent probe, while Saeed Ghani has denied any political interference, stressing that “the law should take its course.”
