The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that a strong monsoon weather system is bringing widespread rains to Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK).

Punjab: Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, DG Khan.
KP: Peshawar, Swat, Mardan, Kohat, Abbottabad, Dir, Chitral.
AJK: Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Rawalakot, Neelum Valley.
⚠️ Potential Risks
Urban Flooding in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Faisalabad.
Landslides likely in hilly areas of KP, Murree, Galiyat, and AJK.
Riverine Flooding may intensify in Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab rivers due to continuous rainfall combined with upstream water releases.
🪖 Preparedness & Response
NDMA and PDMA have issued high alert advisories.
Rescue 1122, Army, and local administration are on standby for relief operations.
People in low-lying and landslide-prone areas have been urged to move to safer ground.
👉 PMD has said that the rain spell will continue for the next 3–4 days, with peak intensity expected between Aug 30 – Sept 2.
