The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a fresh weather advisory, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall across several parts of Pakistan over the next 24 to 48 hours.
📍 Key Alerts
Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan are expected to receive intense monsoon downpours.
Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) may also face cloudbursts and flash floods.
Urban flooding risk is high in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Peshawar, Hyderabad, and Quetta.
Rivers, including the Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej, are already in a vulnerable state, with flood levels rising.
🚨 NDMA Instructions
Provincial and district administrations have been directed to stay on high alert.
Rescue agencies instructed to ensure availability of boats, dewatering pumps, and emergency shelters.
Citizens urged to avoid unnecessary travel, especially near rivers, nullahs, and low-lying areas.
⚠️ Outlook
The NDMA warned that due to already saturated soil and ongoing floods, even moderate rains could worsen the situation, leading to more displacements and infrastructural damage.
