Elon Musk has announced that his artificial intelligence startup, xAI, plans to take legal action against Apple, alleging unfair treatment in the App Store’s ranking system.
In a post on X, Musk claimed Apple was deliberately downranking xAI’s chatbot app in search results to favour its own and competitors’ products. He said the company would pursue legal remedies to ensure “fair competition and transparency” in the marketplace.
Apple has not yet commented on the allegations. The dispute comes amid ongoing scrutiny of the App Store’s policies in the US and Europe, where regulators are examining claims of anti-competitive practices.
