NADRA temporarily shuts centers in flood-hit Punjab districts

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has temporarily suspended operations at its centers in flood-affected districts of Punjab to ensure staff and citizens’ safety.

📍 Affected Areas

  • Kasur

  • Bahawalnagar

  • Okara

  • Vehari

  • Lodhran

  • Pakpattan

  • Bahawalpur

These districts have been hit hard by riverine flooding following heavy rains and India’s water releases into Sutlej, Ravi, and Chenab rivers.

🔒 NADRA’s Statement

  • Services will remain suspended until water recedes and conditions stabilize.

  • Mobile registration vans will be deployed in safer zones to assist affected residents.

  • Urgent cases (like CNIC renewal or lost CNICs for relief assistance) will be prioritized once centers reopen.

🤝 Relief Coordination

NADRA is working with NDMA, PDMA, and local authorities to help ensure that flood victims can still access identity verification for relief distribution.
