NDMA warns of severe flood threat in Ravi river catchment areas

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Tuesday issued a high alert, warning of severe flooding in the Ravi River catchment areas due to continuous heavy rainfall and upstream water releases from India.

📍 High-Risk Areas

  • Districts along the Ravi River in Punjab — including Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, and Faisalabad — face the greatest threat.

  • Low-lying villages near riverbanks are already experiencing rising water levels.
