Pakistan observed the 60th Defence & Martyrs’ Day with solemnity and national pride, paying tribute to the armed forces and civilians who sacrificed their lives in defence of the motherland.
đȘ Ceremonies & Tributes
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Gen. Sahir Shamshad Mirza and the three services chiefs (Army, Navy, Air Force) laid floral wreaths at the Martyrsâ Monument in Islamabad.
Special prayers were offered for the security, prosperity, and solidarity of Pakistan.
Families of martyrs were honoured in ceremonies held at GHQ, Corps Headquarters, naval and air bases.
đïž National Observance
Events were held nationwide, including in schools, universities, and government offices.
Documentaries, songs, and exhibitions highlighted the courage and resilience of Pakistanâs martyrs and ghazis.
Defence Day also reflected on the September 1965 War, reaffirming the resolve to defend Pakistan against all threats.

President Asif Ali Zardari and PM Shehbaz Sharif paid homage to the sacrifices of soldiers and citizens, vowing to strengthen Pakistanâs defence.
They stressed national unity as the key to overcoming security and economic challenges.
