An anti-terrorism court on Monday sentenced PTI leader Dr. Yasmin Rashid to 10 years in prison over her role in the May 9 Jinnah House attack in Lahore. The court found her guilty of inciting and facilitating the vandalism of the historic Corps Commander’s residence following the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan.
In the same case, PTI vice chairman and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was acquitted due to lack of evidence.
The May 9 riots, which targeted military and state installations across Pakistan, led to a sweeping crackdown on PTI leaders and workers, with hundreds facing trials under anti-terrorism laws.
