Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday visited the worst-affected districts of Punjab to review flood relief efforts as riverine flooding continues to devastate parts of the province.
📍 Areas Visited
The leaders toured Kasur, Okara, Bahawalnagar, and Lodhran, where thousands of families have been displaced.
They met with affected residents in relief camps and inspected rescue operations along riverbanks.
🪖 Relief & Rescue Operations
Pakistan Army, NDMA, PDMA, and Rescue 1122 teams are working jointly on evacuation and relief.
Boats, food supplies, and medical teams have been mobilized to submerged villages.

Warned that recurring floods are likely in coming years due to climate change and upstream water releases.
Called for urgent construction of dams and protective embankments.
Promised compensation for affected families, crop losses, and rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure.
🗣️ CM Maryam’s Pledge
Announced special relief packages for farmers whose crops have been destroyed.
Directed district administrations to ensure round-the-clock medical and food assistance in camps.
Said “no affected family will be left without shelter.”
⚠️ Outlook
Authorities remain on high alert as more water is expected to flow into Sutlej and Ravi rivers, posing risks to Vehari, Pakpattan, Bahawalpur, and Lodhran in the coming days.
