PM Shehbaz to attend SCO Heads of State Summit in China

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to visit China from August 30 to September 4, 2025, to attend the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Summit in Tianjin.

🔹 Key Details

  • Summit Participation: PM Shehbaz will join leaders from China, Russia, India, Iran, and other SCO members to deliberate on regional security, economic cooperation, counter-terrorism, and connectivity projects.

  • Bilateral Meetings: He will hold high-level talks with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang to strengthen Pakistan-China strategic and economic ties, especially under CPEC Phase II.

  • Economic Outreach: The PM will attend the Pakistan–China B2B Investment Conference in Beijing and interact with Chinese investors to attract new projects in energy, infrastructure, and technology.

  • Military Parade: Shehbaz Sharif will also participate in a commemorative military parade in Beijing, marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
