The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sialkot has confirmed that the district received an extraordinary 512mm of rainfall within just 48 hours, causing widespread urban flooding and paralyzing routine life.

📍 Situation on Ground

Several low-lying areas and residential colonies are submerged.
Major roads remain blocked due to standing water, disrupting transport and trade.
Hundreds of families have been shifted to relief camps set up by the district administration.

🚨 Official Response

The DC said rescue and relief operations are ongoing in coordination with Rescue 1122, NDMA, and Army personnel.
Emergency teams are using boats and heavy machinery to evacuate stranded residents.
Special medical camps have also been established to tackle waterborne disease risks.
