In a chilling case that has shocked Karachi, a woman has confessed to killing her three children, telling police she did it to “end their suffering.”

According to investigators, the incident occurred in the city’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, where neighbours reported unusual silence from the home before authorities arrived. The children, aged between four and nine, were found dead at the scene.

Police say the mother, now in custody, admitted during questioning that she acted out of what she described as “mercy,” claiming the family had been under severe financial and domestic stress.

Officials have launched a full investigation, with psychological evaluation of the suspect underway.
